SCARSDALE, N.Y. – The Scarsdale Police Department is investigating the death of a contractor found in the basement of a Birchall Road home, according to a release issued by Det. Lt. Thomas Altizio.

At approximately 8 a.m. on Wednesday, police went to the home after a relative of the contractor reported he hadn't returned home Tuesday. Michael Macol, 47, of Bethel, Conn., was found in “a confined area in the basement.” He had been working on electrical lines.

A final determination from the Westchester County Medical Examiner is pending, but initial findings indicate Macol was electrocuted, Altizio said.

He said no further information was immediately available.
