Deadline Set For Return Of Redding Traffic Sign

REDDING, Ct. – The thieves who took a $4,700 traffic sign from Cross Highway will not face criminal charges if they return it by Thursday, Redding Police Chief Douglas Fuchs says.

“If the sign shows up in 48 hours, no questions asked,” he says.

“It’s more than a prank,” Fuchs said of Sunday's theft, which he said will be treated as felony larceny if charges are pressed.

If the sign isn't returned by Thursday afternoon, the police will be able to track the GPS-enabled sign, Fuchs said.
