Shortly after 2:45 a.m. on Sunday morning, police were performing DWI enforcement on Post Road when they spotted an Acura traveling southbound at a high rate of speed.

According to police, during the subsequent traffic stop, police determined that Scarsdale resident Matthew Lestrange, 20, had an active arrest warrant for “failing to appear” that was issued last month in the village. Further investigation determined that Lestrange’s license was suspended on Long Island for “failure to pay a fine.”

Lestrange was placed under arrest and charged with a pair of misdemeanors and a violation for speeding. During his stay, he was under constant supervision by police due to his answers on the suicide screening paperwork. Lestrange was released on $100 cash bail and is due back in Scarsdale Village Court on Wednesday, Feb. 1.
