Michael Spiak, was wanted on a charges of third-degree burglary, a felony, and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a misdemeanor, according to New York State Police.
The 25-year-old was initially charged in August when he was arrested in connection with the burglary.
When he failed to answer to the charges in court earlier this month, a warrant was issued for his arrest, police said.
On Wednesday, state police posted Spiak's picture and details of his case on Facebook. Within hours, he was spotted on Academy Street in Poughkeepsie by a person traveling with a retired New York State Police investigator, authorities said.
Spiak was arrested without incident and arraigned in LaGrange Town Court. He was taken to the Dutchess County jail, where he was held on $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
