Greenburgh Police Seek Man Who Allegedly Robbed Cabbie At Gunpoint

GREENBURGH, N.Y. -- Greenburgh Police are seeking a man who allegedly robbed a cab driver at gunpoint on Monday, July 21.

At approximately 9:50 p.m., a cab driver reported that at he was parked at the cab stand located at the Tarrytown Train Station looking for a possible fare to transport, police said. He was approached by a male approximately 20 to 25 years of age, medium brown complexion wearing a dark gray T-shirt, blue jeans and a black baseball cap, according to police.  

Police said the suspect requested to be taken to Beaver Hill Road in Elmsford. The victim then requested that he had to be paid first and the suspect agreed and gave victim $12, police said.

According to police, when they arrived in the area of Beaver Hill Road, the suspect was unable to provide a house number and requested that he be taken further up the street and asked that the taxi stop in front of 48 Beaver Hill Rd., police said.

According to police, the suspect then displayed a metallic gray handgun between the two front seats and stated, "Do you see this? Papi give me all your money."

Police said the victim told the suspect that he did not have much money and removed approximately $28 from his front pocket and handed it to suspect told the victim to open the center console.

When victim the did not open it, the suspect opened it himself and took approximately $30, police said. The suspect then exited the taxi through the rear passenger side door and ran up the drive way of 48 Beaver Hill Rd. towards Payne Street, according to police.

Greenburgh Detectives are investigating the robbery and are requesting anyone who may have information to contact them at 914-682-5331.
