This week, police officials announced that they were investigating a home burglary that took place late on Sunday afternoon in the Wilmont Manor neighborhood while the homeowners were gone for a few hours.

According to police, the perpetrators made forced entry through a rear window of the residence when it was unoccupied for several hours over the weekend. The investigation into the burglary is ongoing.

Earlier this month, a Bronxville Manor home was burglarized overnight while the residents were still home. It also comes on the heels of a pair of break-ins in Scarsdale. It is unclear if any of the burglaries are related.

Police have cautioned homeowners to lock their doors and windows, set alarms and to call authorities if they see any suspicious people or vehicles in their neighborhood.

Homeowners in the area that have video surveillance have been asked to check the footage between the hours of 5:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. on Sunday for any evidence. Anyone with information regarding the burglary can call Eastchester Police Department detectives at (914) 961-3464.
