Mamaroneck Police Arrest Mount Vernon Man After Village Deli Burglary

MAMARONECK, N.Y. -- A 48-year-old Mount Vernon man has been charged in connection with the March 11 burglary at Village Deli, 1023 West Boston Post Road in Mamaroneck.

Carl Spasoff also was arrested on March 12 by Greenburgh police shortly after burglaries of a Scarsdale wine store and the Romantic Depot in Elmsford. 

At about 11 p.m. on March 11, Mamaroneck police received a 911 call about a possible burglary.

Police officers responded to Village Deli and found the front window of the business damaged and a cash register on the ground.

After an investigation conducted by the Village of Mamaroneck Police Department, in conjunction with other police agencies throughout Westchester County, Spasoff was arrested on March 19 for burglarizing Village Deli, police said on Wednesday.

Spasoff was charged with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies. He was arraigned in Village of Mamaroneck Court on March 19 and sent to Westchester County jail. He is due back in village court on Thursday.
