Shane Burris was riding shotgun with his brother, Whitney, when borough police responding to a report of a dispute on southbound Route 17 pulled over their Jeep on Sunday, Detective Lt. Edward Kane said.

Whitney Burris, 26, tried to run but was caught and charged with resisting arrest, obstruction and weapons possession, Kane said. It turned out he had an outstanding felony warrant out of New York State, the lieutenant said.

Shane Burris, 24, meanwhile, was found 12 bags of heroin, he said.

The brothers -- both from Monroe, N.Y. -- were arrested.

Whitney Burris went to the Bergen County Jail on $50,000 bail, pending extradition proceedings, and Shane Burris was released on a court summons.

About an hour later, two juveniles -- one 17, the other 15 -- told police that Shane Burris approached and threatened to punch them in the face if the younger one didn't surrender his cellphone, Kane said.

Officers found him a short distance away.

“I guarantee more cops are going to die," Kane said Burris told them.

They charge Burris with making terroristic threats, robbery, child endangerment, and making threats to the juvenile.

He remained held on $75,000 in the Bergen County Jail.

Allendale Police, Saddle River Police, Ramsey Police, and Ho-Ho-Kus Police assisted, Kane said.
