Jamall Sinclair, a Mount Vernon resident, has been arrested for allegedly shooting a man that was walking on South Fourth Avenue shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday, July 3.
Mount Vernon Mayor Ernest Davis stated that Sinclair was identified as a suspect in the days following the shooting, but they had to conduct an exhaustive search to track him down.
“We’ve spent nearly three weeks trying to locate him and we finally got him when he reported to the parole office,” he said.
Sinclair, 26, was arraigned in Mount Vernon City Court on Wednesday, where he was charged with felony counts of second-degree criminal use of a firearm and first-degree reckless endangerment. According to reports, he has previously spent three years in prison on gun charges.
