New York State Police trooper received a report from Danbury Hospital in Connecticut, where a patient came in at approximately 3:15 a.m. on Sunday morning with multiple stab wounds.

During the subsequent investigation, police said it was determined that the victim was allegedly assaulted by a co-worker in Somers. It is alleged that 38-year-old Ardijan Taraku of Scarsdale was involved in a physical altercation with his victim behind the restaurant, stabbing him repeatedly with the wine bottle opener.

Taraku was arrested and charged with a felony count of second-degree assault and criminal possession of a weapon, a misdemeanor. He was arraigned in the Town of Somers Justice Court and released on his own recognizance. Taraku is scheduled to appear back in court later this year to answer the charges.

Police did not release the name of the Somers restaurant.
