The nanny told police she saw a man with a flashlight try to open her car parked in front of the Greenacres Avenue home Saturday afternoon. She then opened the upstairs window and heard the man say “this one is locked,” according to the police report. She then yelled out the window, “hey.” The unknown suspect and two other men in the driveway ran into a parked black sedan and drove away, police said.

The car drove north toward White Plains, but police didn’t find it. Neither the nanny’s car nor the car parked in the driveway had signs of tampering or forced entry, police said.

At the time of the incident, there were many cars parked on Greenacres and Walworth avenues for an event at the Hitchcock Church, police noted.

Police are investigating the matter.
