Public Works Employee Hospitalized After Head Injury In Mamaroneck

LARCHMONT, N.Y. -- Mamaroneck police, fire and emergency medical services units responded to a report of serious trauma on Wednesday morning.

Town of Mamaroneck Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a sanitation worker injured in Larchmont on Wednesday morning. He was conscious and alert, police said, and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Lt. Bob Koziak, spokesman for the Town of Mamaroneck Police Department, confirmed that a Department of Public Works senitation employee suffered a laceration to his head about 9:49 a.m. near Vine and Villa roads in the village of Larchmont.

Koziak said the DPW employee was conscious and alert and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. 

It was initially reported that the DPW worker injured his head on the garbage truck, and there was uncontrolled bleeding, but Koziak was unable to provide more details about injuries.
