Jamar Jermaine Jarrett was arrested by Rye police with help from the Connecticut police departments in Bridgeport, Trumbull and Suffield, where the suspect is connected to three other bank robberies.

After the robbery at Rye's Webster Bank, a red dye pack exploded all over the stolen cash in the parking lot behind the bank. A suspect described as wearing dreadlocks fled in a blue Audi, police said.

Jarrett reportedly dropped the bag of an undetermined amount of money, leaving a red stain on the pavement. A man matching his description was later seen by a witness near the pool at Rye Playland -- changing clothes and scrubbing himself, according to police.

The suspect is being held in Connecticut awaiting extradition to New York state, Rye police said.

According to the Fairfield Citizen, Jarrett was arrested in June 2012 and charged with burglary after he and another Bridgeport  man were caught stealing scrap metal including radiators from vacant homes.
