SCARSDALE, N.Y. Early Thursday morning, a driver on the Bronx River Parkway lost control of his vehicle and crashed through a shed and foliage on the side of the road, according to Scarsdale fire personnel.
Shortly after midnight, the motorist in the southbound lanes on the parkway left the road, hit the fence for the Parkway Maintenance Yard, a storage shed, brush and some trees, officials said.
Scarsdale firefighters responded to the scene at 12:15 a.m. Two occupants in the vehicle were able to escape on their own. The driver had to be removed by fire department personnel.

Carbon Monoxide incident: Scarsdale fire officials responded to a residence on Heathcote Road that was reporting a carbon monoxide leak. Firefighters found the family already outside of the home and clear from danger when they arrived shortly after 10 p.m. Sunday. Fire personnel discovered high readings of the gas, shut off the gas to the house and ventilated the home. A hot water flue and a problem with the air conditioning unit was discovered to be the cause, officials said. An infant and young child were taken to the hospital for precautionary tests, officials said, but there were no symptoms of carbon monoxide poisoning in any of the residents of the home.
