According to police, a White Road resident reached out to them on Friday morning, when she observed what she believed to be “skeletal remains” in one of the six-foot excavated holes, which prompted her to retrieve them and manually search the area for more.
After placing the bone fragments in zip-lock bags, the curious homeowner delivered them to officials at Scarsdale Police Headquarters, who then forwarded the remains to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Valhalla to determine if the remains were human or otherwise.
After a quick examination, Medical Examiner Dr. Kunjlata Ashar announced that the bones were not human, to the relief of the homeowner.
