Scarsdale PBA Sponsors Charity Drive

SCARSDALE, N.Y. - The Scarsdale Police Benevolent Association, in conjunction with the Scarsdale Police Department, is sponsoring a drive for My Sister’s Place, a non-profit agency in Westchester County that provides shelter for victims of domestic violence.

Police are encouraging parents to channel money for toilet paper, shaving cream, eggs and other products used in Halloween mischief into items that can be donated to the shelter.

Detective Lt. Thomas Altizio said this is the sixth consecutive year they have worked with My Sister’s Place.

“We feel that it’s a very good cause because they provide help to victims of domestic violence and abuse,” he said.

My Sister’s Place is currently in need of new or slightly used duffel bags, towels, twin sheet sets, blankets, comforters toiletries and gently used infant clothing.

“We want Halloween to be for the kids,” said Altizio. “Our goal is to reduce the senseless mischief that takes place on Halloween to make for a safe, family-friendly holiday.”

Donated items can be dropped off in the lobby of the Scarsdale Police Department at Post and Fenimore Roads any time through Nov. 4. Police personnel will deliver all goods to the shelter and will make their own contributions to the cause.
