Scarsdale Police Arrest Youth Following School Burglary

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – A Scarsdale boy was arrested last week after breaking into Fox Meadow Elementary School to steal equipment from the administrative offices, police said.

According to Scarsdale Det. Lt. Thomas Altizio, police found and arrested a 15-year-old boy shortly after 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 26 after receiving a burglar alarm from security with the district.

Just minutes after receiving the alert, officers arrived at the school, where they found the suspect hiding in the bushes, in possession of various items that had been taken from the elementary school offices, police said.

The child was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary, criminal mischief, petty larceny and possession of burglar tools. Officers released him to his parents, and his case has been referred to the Westchester County Family Court.
