Shortly after midnight on Monday morning, Scarsdale police reported to a Kent Road residence, where a homeowner stated that he believed his home had been broken into while the family was out of town.

According to the police report, the family left the home at noon on Wednesday and returned at approximately 10 p.m. on Sunday, to find that parts of the home had been ransacked.

“(The homeowner) first noticed two cabinets located in the dining room area that appeared to be tampered with,” Police Officer Anthony Gaudio noted. “He then stated a dish was located on a chest in the living room area and placed on the floor. Sgt. (Peter) Godshall, who was on scene, noticed a boot print on the floor near the chest.”

Police found that the master bedroom was heavily ransacked, with closet doors thrown open and the contents of drawers strewn about. Two pillowcases were also removed, which “could have been used to carry the contents from the home.”

According to police, the dressing room in the master bedroom was also looted through, with several dresser drawers opened with their contents spilled onto the floor. Additionally, a storage space within the dressing room was tampered with.

In addition to the master bedroom, a second guest bedroom that connects to an office had also been searched, and one drawer on a desk was ajar.

The police are continuing their investigation.
