Patrol officers were dispatched to Kingston Road on Sunday afternoon, on reports of a stolen 2008 Kia Sportage that was registered to a Hartsdale resident, who reported the vehicle stolen days earlier.

Officers canvassed neighboring properties on Kingston and Montrose Road to determine when the vehicle had been left, though local residents were only able to tell police that it had been parked on Kingston Road for several days. No other witness information was available.

Police said that the officers remained with the vehicle until it could be towed and impounded. During a search of a vehicle at the Scarsdale Police Impound Lot, investigators found a work jacket with the name “John,” two hurling sticks and multiple CDs. The vehicle remains in the lot while the investigation into the stolen car continues.

Anyone with information regarding the stolen vehicle can contact investigators by calling the Scarsdale Police Department at (914) 722-1200.
