SCARSDALE, N.Y. A developmentally disabled Scarsdale woman was reportedly the victim of abuse by a staff member of Westchester ARC, according to a police report.
Police responded to the assisted living facility on Friday after a clinical team leader reported an incident that occurred on Aug. 16. Yonkers-based Allways East Transportation was transporting the woman, and the driver reported that a Westchester ARC member was too rough with the woman.
[The staff member] practically dragged her in the house when the consumer has a very hard time walking, the report says.
The victim didnt have any discernible injuries, and did not have any visible marks as a result of the incident. She was unable to articulate what had happened to police due to her disability.
According to police, Westchester ARC is in the process of completing an internal investigation about the issue. Two staff members claim that there was tension between the staff member and victim, and they believe the incident could have happened since both individuals are so passionate.
