Kenneth Mims, 18, along with a 17-year-old and a 16-year-old, all were charged with third-degree larceny and conspiracy to commit third-degree larceny. The names of the 17-year-old and 16-year-old were not released due to their ages. Mims also was charged with failure to appear in court and held on $17,500 bond.

Police received a call from a resident of Sention Avenue at 9:42 a.m. Monday, reporting that her purple Cadillac sedan had been stolen. She said she had last seen the car the previous night, and had misplaced her keys and was concerned she might have dropped them on the sidewalk, police said.

Officers began searching for the car and received a call from OnStar at 11:30 a.m. reporting the car was in the area of Van Buren Avenue, police said.

Police said they found the car nearby with one of the teens still inside. Police learned another teen had driven the car, and Mims had been involved in the theft, according to police reports.

Mims and the other teen were found in a home on Nash Place and taken into custody, police said.
