Estates Of Two Stamford Fire Victims Intend To Sue City

STAMFORD, Conn. — The estates of two of the five victims of the Christmas morning fire at the home of Stamford resident Madonna Badger have issued notices of their intent to sue the city.

The notices were issued by Wade Johnson, administrator of the estates of Pauline and Lomer Johnson, Badger's parents. They say Wade Johnson will pursue claims for property damage, personal injury and civil rights violations from negligent and wrongful actions by the city. Reports say Wade Johnson is the son of the two victims and brother of Badger.

The claims say the Johnsons sustained permanent loss of property valued over $3 million when the city had the home demolished and, as a result, their property was discarded or scrapped without notice, warning or compensation.

The town clerk’s office received both claims on June 25.
