He was joined by his New York colleagues U.S. Sen. Chuck Schumer and U.S. Reps. Nita Lowey and Sean Patrick Maloney as he checked in on the investigation into the crash that killed the driver of an SUV as well as five train passengers Tuesday.
Immediately after visiting the warehouse, the federal officials traveled to the site of the crash in Valhalla, N.Y., with NTSB officials to view the scene and be briefed on the ongoing investigation.
On Tuesday evening, a Metro-North train traveling on the Harlem Line struck an SUV on its tracks in Valhalla, killing six and injuring many more. It is the deadliest accident in Metro-North’s history.
