SCARSDALE, N.Y. – With Scarsdale local elections around the corner, the village has laid out rules involving absentee ballots.

Elections will be held March 19 at Village Hall. For residents who won’t be present on that date, absentee ballots are available online.

Absentee ballots can also be obtained by filling out an application at Village Hall, or by requesting one by phone or in the mail.

All qualified voters must fill out the entire statement on the front side of the application form, and personally sign it.

Forms must be turned in to the Village Clerk by March 12; an absentee ballot will then be sent to the voter. If ballots are mailed in, they must be received at least one day before the election to be counted.

Mail-in registrations can be picked up at Village Hall, or voters can go to the Westchester County Board of Elections at 25 Quarropas St. in White Plains.

To vote in the upcoming elections, a resident must be a U.S. citizen, 18 years old, live at a village address for a minimum of 30 days and cannot be on parole for a felony conviction.
