WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- As Westchester County Executive Robert Astorino mulls over running against Governor Andrew Cuomo in next year's Gubernatorial race, the largest deciding factor may come down to campaign finances, according to The Wall Street Journal.
It appears Astorino, who was reelected as county executive with 56 percent of the vote in November, would be at a significant financial disadvantage if he were to run. As of July, Cuomo's campaign funding stood at nearly $28 million, The Wall Street Journal Reported.
A Wall Street Journal/NBC 4 New York/Marist poll suggested that Cuomo would win easily over Astorino by a margin of 65 percent to 23 percent among registered voters, according to The Wall Street Journal.
