SCARSDALE, N.Y. – The Scarsdale Citizens’ Nominating Committee will host its annual organizational meeting this weekend, featuring a discussion of the Village Board of Trustees with some of its members.
The Committee is inviting the community to attend its annual meeting at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13 in Rutherford Hall at Scarsdale Village Hall, where Mayor Jonathan Mark and Trustee David Lee will share their views on the time commitment and expertise necessary to serve on the Board.
Each year, the Citizens’ Nominating Committee selects candidates for village office, including trustee, mayor and village justice. Traditionally, nominated candidates run unopposed during village elections in March.
The meeting is expected to outline the system the Committee utilizes to select candidates for office. Any local residents contemplating a run as a potential candidate of the Board is advised to attend.
According to the Citizens’ Nominating Committee, the organization “seeks to promote a cooperative, deliberative and open atmosphere in local civic affairs in order to attract the most qualified individuals to serve in local public officers.”
