Scarsdale Heads To The Polls Today

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – Eastchester and Scarsdale voters go to the polls Tuesday not just to elect a president but also to vote for local office holders.

Amy Paulin is seeking re-election in the New York Assembly's 88th District. She is running unopposed and will serve her seventh consecutive term. District 88 covers Pelham, Eastchester, Scarsdale and portions of New Rochelle and White Plains.

In the the 37th District of the state Senate, Republican Bob Cohen is running against Democrat George Latimer for the seat held by retiring state Sen. Suzi Oppenheimer.

U.S. Rep. Eliot Engel is also seeking re-election in the  16th Congressional District. Republican Joseph McLaughlin and Green Party member Joseph Diaferia are challenging him. The district includes Scarsdale, Eastchester, Rye, Mount Vernon, Pelham and a portion of the north Bronx.

There is also a race for a U.S. Senate seat as Democrat Kirsten Gillibrand, the incumbent, is challenged by Republican Wendy Long, Green Party candidate Colia Clark, Libertarian Chris Edes,  and Common Sense Party candidate John Mangelli.
