The meeting gets under way at 8 p.m. in the Scott Room at the Scarsdale Public Library. Preceding the meeting, there will be a reception honoring the chairs of the Forum’s Committees at 7:30 p.m.
Stewart-Cousins, who has served as a state senator since 2006, was elected by her colleagues as the Democratic conference leader, becoming the first woman to lead a Legislative Conference in state history. She is an advocate for human rights, education, accessible and affordable healthcare and making the government a more efficient, transparent entity.
There will be an education committee report on teacher contract negotiations that will be proposed for approval by co-chairs Mary Beth Evans and Carol Stix. Additionally, a municipal services committee report on “the village’s engineering and building departments and the coordinating office,” that will be proposed for approval by co-chair Linda Blair.
A question-and-answer period will follow each presentation.
