17% of Scarsdale Property Owners File Grievances For Property Tax Relief

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – More than 17 percent of Scarsdale’s property owners have filed grievances with the town in the wake of the 2016 property tax revaluation, according to community website scarsdale10583.com.

By the June 21 deadline for filing such grievances, 1,030 people (17.5 percent of town property owners) had submitted the necessary paperwork to appeal the revaluation, according to scarsdale10583.com, which reported the number of people to petition the village has risen from the 960 grievances filed after the property tax revaluation of 2014.

According to scarsdale10583.com, the Board of Assessment Review was to meet for nearly eight hours Thursday, June 23, to have three-minute appointments with those wishing to plead their cases in person. The board is scheduled to meet again for the same purpose Wednesday, June 29, according to scarsdale10583.com.
