O’Connell has been a full-time agent for 13 years and comes to the company from Margot Bennett, Inc., an independent agency in Yonkers. She specializes in Yonkers, Bronxville, Scarsdale, the Rivertowns, and the surrounding areas.
“I had an interest in real estate for many years prior to joining Rand Realty, and once I left video production, there was some type of draw that I found in real estate,” said Barbara O’Connell, a real estate salesperson for Rand Realty. “It had the same type of appeal to my creative background.”
Before transitioning to real estate, O’Connell worked for 15 years as a video producer in Manhattan, where she produced commercials for Coca-Cola and Tide, as well as Stevie Wonder videos and industrial films for AT&T.
“I think producing takes a certain amount of sales experience,” said O’Connell. “You have to manage a budget, people, the creative aspects of the production itself, and you have to be able to work harmoniously with a large group of people at all times, and I think that all of that translates to real estate. Therefore, that experience has helped me in real estate and my clients.”
