The Center's latest advocate training session begins on Oct. 8 at the Center’s new office located at 733 Summer St. in Stamford, according to a press release. The training is free and takes place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and runs for about eight weeks. At the conclusion of the training program, advocates will be certified to staff The Center’s 24-hour crisis hotline, according to the release.

The Center's 24-hour sexual assault crisis serves Darien, Greenwich, New Canaan, Norwalk, Stamford, Weston, Westport and Wilton.

"Videos, role playing, and visits to hospitals and police stations all supplement the classroom-style discussions on topics including: what is sexual assault/sexual harassment?, adult incest survivors, teen survivors, child sexual assault, how to talk to victims, and current trends such as sexting and human trafficking," representatives said in the release.

Interested candidates are asked to call Coral at The Center at 203-348-9346 to set up an appointment.
