$20K in Jewelry Stolen From Weston Home

Jewelry and electronics worth nearly $20,000 were taken from a Hidden Hill Road home on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Weston police reported no signs of forced entry into the home. "Everything was in order,” said Detective Carl Filsinger. “Whoever did this went through the house and didn't mess anything up."

During the investigation, police canvassed the area and discovered that a man had approached several homes and asked for directions. Filsinger noted that while this could have been legitimate – the man was likely casing homes. "If the homeowner answers, they ask them for directions," Filsinger said. "If no one's at home, they try to come in."

Filsinger advises residents to call the police if they experience a similar situation. "It's just better to be safe," he said.

The police are working with area law enforcement to determine if there are other cases that match the m.o. of the burglary in Weston.
