Stamford Swimmer Wins All-American Honors

Dan Madwed wrapped up a busy weekend at the NCAA Swimming and Diving championships by earning All-American honors in four events to help the University of Michigan to a ninth-place finish.

Madwed finished sixth in the 200-yard butterfly in Saturday's final day of the meet. He also earned All-Amercian honors in the 100-yard butterfly (third) and in the 400-yard freestyle relay (seventh) and 800-yard free relay (eighth). Madwed helped two other relays earn honorable mention All-American honors. The 200-yard free relay finished 12th and the 400-yard medley relay finished 13th.

He earned All-American honors for the second straight year in the 200 fly. He finished fifth last year. Earlier this year, Madwed set a Big 10 record in the 200 fly.
