Drug Seizure: Poughkeepsie Man Charged With Possession Of Fentanyl, Cocaine

A Hudson Valley man is behind bars after being busted with alleged cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs during a search of an area motel room.

Dutchess County resident James R. Scott, age 35, of the city of Poughkeepsie, was arrested on Tuesday, June 20 following an investigation by the Dutchess County Drug Task Force.

The task force has been actively investigating the sale of cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs in the Dutchess County area, said Det. Sgt. Adam D. Harris, of the task force.

 As a result of this investigation, a search warrant was executed at a motel on Albany Post Road in the town of Hyde Park by the task force and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Emergency Services Unit, Harris said.

Harris said during the search, cocaine, fentanyl, and other drugs were seized.

Scott was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail. Additional charges are pending in other jurisdictions.
