The four-bedroom, 5-bath house includes 3.24 acres and is listed for $3,995,000 by Susan Greenberg of Houlihan Lawrence. The custom ranch-style home was built in 1975.

“It’s one of the few locations in Scarsdale where you have views of Long Island Sound,’’ Greenberg said about the waterway, which is over four miles away. “I’ve had agents tell me ‘I think you made a mistake in the listing.’ There is fewer than one handful of homes in Scarsdale that can see the Sound. This is one of them.”

The home has a unique look, with nearly all of the windows on the two-floor structure looking out of the back of the house. “It has a very open layout, which was part of the modernism movement of the time period,’’ Greenberg said. “It’s very ahead of its time.”

An inground pool is constructed on the first highest level of the home. Residents can see Long Island Sound from the deck, and also have easy access from the kitchen, living room and dining room. The deck is also partially covered, convenient for downtime outside of the pool.

“When you’re on the deck and look south, there’s an incredible view,’’ Greenberg said. “It’s quite brilliant.”

Greenberg describes the pool as similar to a “sunken tub.” Additional bedrooms are on the second floor, each with its own bathroom. Some other amenities in the home include built-ins throughout, a wet bar, walkout basement and master study.

The house is sited between Mamaroneck Avenue and Fenimore Road, and is nestled between Quaker Ridge Golf Club and Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaroneck. The property also owns two lots on which additional homes could be built.

“I’ve admired this house for years,’’ said Greenberg, who grew up in Scarsdale and has 22 years of selling real estate. “They have magnificent crab apple trees, and it’s magnificent in the fall. We’ve gotten a tremendous amount of traffic of people who have admired it forever. It’s very special and unique. It’s a show-stopper.”
