Acclaimed Pianist To Teach Master Class In Scarsdale

SCARSDALE, N.Y. – The Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale will continue its “Master Class” series on Saturday, as it brings in young pianist Mei-Ting Sun to coach piano students at the school.

At 2 p.m., the Shanghai native, who has appeared as a guest soloist with the Hoff-Barthelson Festival Orchestra, will teach a class to students at the music school. Sun has a doctorate from the Juilliard School of Music and has appeared on concert tours around the world.

Sun entered the Professional Children’s School and the Mannes College of Music when he was 9 years old. He has performed with the National Spanish Orchestra, the Macau Orchestra, the Hong Kong Sinfonietta and the Sao Paoli State Orchestra among others.

The pianist has been featured on several radio and television programs, and was showcased on NPR’s Performance Today. Sun is deeply involved in education and outreach for classical music and he regularly gives classes at universities around the globe.
