SCARSDALE, N.Y. The Hoff-Barthelson Music School is hosting its final jazz ensemble concert of the year at 6 p.m. Sunday at Chase Park in Scarsdale.
The concert, All that Jazz, is under the direction of Ed Palermo, the school's Jazz Studies Program coordinator. The program will feature several of the schools student jazz ensembles playing a cross-section of American jazz standards as well as pieces composed and arranged by students and faculty members.
Students will be joined by their teachers for a variety of jazz combinations during the day. Residents are encouraged to bring a picnic.
The Jazz Studies Program at the Hoff-Barthleson Music School provides a full range of jazz musicianship courses in addition to ensemble performances. Middle school and high school students can choose from an improvisation, theory and arranging course as part of their basic Jazz Studies curriculum.
