Scarsdale Mathletes Qualify For State Math Competition

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. – A group of nine Scarsdale teens qualified to compete in the New York State Math League in April, after their team won first place in the Westchester County Math League.

Teams from 24 school districts meet monthly for the county Math League. They earn points for each problem they solve correctly. To qualify for the state competition, students must show a high level of achievement at the monthly math meets.

The nine Scarsdale students who qualified for the state competition are:

  • Michael Bogaty
  • Chenyi Gong
  • Cherie Hu
  • Connie Lam
  • Alexander Lin
  • Koji Shiromoto
  • David Wang
  • Felicia Xu

The state competition will take place April 13 at Byram Hills High School in Armonk. About 30 teams will compete in individual, team, relay and power races.
