SCARSDALE, N.Y. -- Hoff-Barthelson Music School in Scarsdale is starting the new year with an intensive reed making workshop with faculty members Elizabeth Condon (oboe) and Janet Grice (bassoon).
The workshop, suitable for the beginner to advanced student, will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016, from 3-5 p.m., at the School, 25 School Lane, Scarsdale. The workshop is free and open to the public.
Participants will get hands-on practice in making and adjusting reeds and learn more about the idiosyncrasies of the oboe and bassoon.
Reed tools are not required for the workshop, but a list can be provided for those who wish to use their own tools by contacting Janet Grice at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Participants should bring their instruments as the last 45 minutes of the workshop will be spent playing together in a double reed ensemble.
