According to Assistant Superintendent Linda Purvis, because of the impending storm, schools will be dismissed early from class on Monday.

The middle school will release students at 11:20 a.m., while the elementary and high school will dismiss students at noon.

“Students that are eligible for district transportation will be picked up at those times,” Purvis noted in an email to parents. “Arrangements should be made to pick up all other students at those dismissal times.”

All after school activities, including Monday’s Board of Education meeting, have been cancelled. A decision on whether schools will open normally tomorrow has yet to be determined.

According to the National Weather Service, which has issued blizzard and winter weather warnings, on Monday, there will be light snow in New Rochelle through the beginning of the afternoon, before “blizzard like conditions” hit the area through Tuesday.
