SCARSDALE, N.Y. - Scarsdale voters overwhelmingly approved the school district's revised budget Tuesday.

The spending plan received 2,465 yes votes and 454 no votes, according to the district.

The Scarsdale School District puts its revised budget to a public revote on Tuesday, offering a trimmed spending plan that totals $143.9 million, a 1.49 percent increase from last year.

The revised budget’s tax levy, the amount to be raised by taxes, is set at 2.84 percent, bringing it under the state-mandated tax levy cap of 3.12 percent. The Scarsdale school board’s original proposed budget of $145.3 million – a 2.47 increase from 2012-13 – was shot down by district voters on May 21. The tax levy was set at 3.91 percent, which exceeded the state’s limit. The budget that was rejected last month received 1,720 “no” votes and 1,502 “yes” votes.
