Scarsdale's Nakajima, Yao Selected For Hudson Valley Music Club Competition

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, N.Y. -- Six Westchester County high school musicians have been selected for the 2014 Hudson Valley Music Club Student Awards Competition.

The six students will be featured in the Hudson Valley Music Club Student Awards Concert at 1 p.m. Monday, April 28 at the Dobbs Ferry Woman's Club at 54 Clinton Ave. in Dobbs Ferry. The students from Westchester are Dobbs Ferry High School sophomore Sofia Checa, Scarsdale High School sophomore Fangwei Jin, Yorktown High School freshman Sophie Lee, Scarsdale High School sophomores Naoko Nakajima and Alan Yao and Horace Greeley High School junior Mira Vanchiswar.

The program will include works by S. Prokofiev, F. Liszt, J.S. Bach, L. Janacek, W.A. Mozart, H. Wieniawski, D. Popper, and R. Strauss, according to a press release.

Admission to the concert is $15 per person. The admission includes the concert and awards reception following the concert.
