Stepinac HS Football Team Improves To 4-0

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- Malcolm Major scored two first-quarter touchdowns Saturday to lead Archbishop Stepinac High School to a 56-0 rout of St. Francis Prep of Fresh Meadow.

The Crusaders (4-0) play Iona Prep of New Rochelle (3-1) in a showdown of two of the premier teams in the area Saturday, Oct. 4,  at 1:30 in New Rochelle.

Against St. Francis, Stepinac raced out to a 35-0 lead in the first quarter.  Daniel Negron scored the first touchdown on a 15-yard pass from Brandon Coleman. After Major ran six yards for a score, Damarcus Miller returned an interception 23 yards for a score. Tyquell Fields threw a 22-yard touchdown pass to Giancarlo Furio for Stepinac’s fourth touchdown. Major ran 50 yards for Stepinac’s final TD in the first quarter.

Ty Ennis (87 yards), Coleman (24 yards) and Kobe Miranda (5 yards) ran for the other Stepinac scores.

Stepinac defeated Iona Prep last year,10-7. Iona Prep had won the three previous meetings. In its four games this season, Stepinac has outscored opponents 175-24.
