With “application season” getting into full swing as October arrives, students, teachers and parents were given the opportunity to see, speak and discuss the positives and negatives of 80 different institutions of higher education with representatives from the various schools.
While the college fair offered high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to speak with representatives of schools such as Harvard, Cornell and Towson, it also provided freshmen and sophomores valuable experience speaking with college representatives.
Jessica Perillo, a new guidance counselor that organized the event with the aid of fellow counselor Bryan Costa and department secretary Lauren Nickoletos, said that the fair provided every student in the high school with a special opportunity that not ever district provides.
“This year’s college fair kicks off the application season. It is a great opportunity for all grade levels to gain some valuable exposure to the college admissions process,” she said. “We look forward to continuing to assist the students in completing the admissions process and providing them with all the necessary resources to reach their post-secondary goals.”
