Edgemont Wrestling Does Well In Two Tournaments

EDGEMONT, N.Y. -- Edgemont High School's wrestling team competed at the Eastern States Classic with Junior Cliffton Wang (170 pounds) finishing in 8th place.

In the Henry Hudson Tournament Edgemont had two finalists, seniors Hunter Moore (145 pounds) and Max Worobow (152 pounds). 

Worobow brought home the title - his second tournament title in as many weeks - in a triple overtime sudden death ride out. 

Junior George Mellor (126 pounds) took third place.

Also recently, the Panthers beat Woodlands.

Up next:

  • The Panthers will host a home meet Thursday, Jan. 28 at 4:30 p.m. to compete for a league championship. Spectators are welcome. A $5 suggested donation at the door will go to the Wounded Warrior Project.
  • The 34th Annual Edgemont Tournament is Saturday, Jan. 30. Wrestling begins at 9 a.m. with finals set for 6 p.m. Spectators are welcome and help is needed
