Harrison's Mariano Rivera III Selected In MLB Draft

NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -- Iona College standout and Harrison resident Mariano Rivera III, the son of the Yankees' legendary closer Mariano Rivera, was selected in the fourth round, 134th overall, of Major League Baseball's first-year player draft by the Washington Nationals on Tuesday.

Rivera, unlike his father, has excelled as a starter, posting a 5-7 record with 113 strikeouts in 85 innings, ESPN.com reported. 

Rivera III was drafted by the Yankees last year in the 29th round, but elected to return to New Rochelle for his junior year, ESPN.com said.
