New Rochelle Hockey Team Hangs On To Beat White Plains

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. -- New Rochelle High School's varsity hockey team held on for a 4-3 win in a hotly contest game against White Plains Wednesday at the Ebersole Ice Rink.

White Plains (12-6) had evened the score at 3-3 with 1:33 left in the second period, but New Ro's Kenny McLean scored what turned out to be the game-winner one minute later.

Brendan McDonough, who finished with three goals, scored the game-tying goal for White Plains late in the second, but New Ro keeper Arthur Leibowitz didn't allow another score, finishing with 40 saves.

White Plains netminder Chris Stangarone stopped 29 shots Brandon Cimino, Masimo Miceli and Nick Ramondelli each had a goal for the Huguenots (6-8).
