BREWSTER, N.Y. - The No. 2 Scarsdale High field hockey team came up with one of its best performances of the season Tuesday, toppling top seed and two-time defending state champion Mamaroneck, 2-0, in the Class A championship game at Brewster High School.
Scarsdale (16-2-1) was set to take on Section 9's Kingston in a regional Saturday at 3 p.m. at Valhalla High School.
Mamaroneck closes the curtain on a strong season at 15-2-2.
Erin Nicholas gave the Raiders a 1-0 lead, and Emma Schwartz added an insurance goal late in the second half.
The win gave Scarsdale 17-year veteran coach Sharon Rosenthal her first sectional title.
