With Scarsdale beginning to thaw out from Monday’s nor’Easter, officials with the Parks and Recreation Department have begun to accept registrants for the annual Scarsdale 15K and four 4-mile runs, one of the village’s most popular events each spring.

The event kicks off at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 19 at Scarsdale High School. The day's events will include a one-mile Kids Fun Run for athletes under the age of 12.

Once again, the Scarsdale Antiques Running Club will be co-sponsoring the Abe Simon Memorial Team race.

Runners will kick off the races on Brewster Road, travelling through Fox Meadow and Greenacres on a scenic tour of the village. Traffic will be restricted by police for the protection of participants, though local access will be granted to homeowners.

In addition, the Wayside Lane entrance to the high school will be blocked by police at 6 a.m. Race participants will enter the school from the Olmstead and Brewster Road entrances. Roads will be opened regularly once the runners have finished the race.

Entry dues for the 15K and four-mile races will be $16 before March 1 and $30 thereafter. Those participating in the Kids Fun Run will be charged an entry fee of $15 before March 1 and $25 after the cutoff. Pre-registrants will get a complimentary Scarsdale Race t-shirt.

Those interested in participating in the Scarsdale 15K and four-mile runs can do so online.
