New York University wrestler David Rice needed to make room in his Scarsdale home for some new hardware recently. The Edgemont graduate and NYU senior won the Ted Reese Wrestling Invitational 165-pound title, hosted by Southern Maine University, and was also named the Most Outstanding Wrestler. Two days later, Rice was selected as the University Athletic Association athlete of the week. Rice, who is currently ranked eighth in the Division III 165-pound weight class, handled fourth-seeded Kyle Lundberg of Trinity, 8-1, in the final. Rice, the third seed, went 5-0, including three technical falls, and allowed a meager seven points total.
